Message from the Founder and Chairperson

Ms. Sarah Namufumba

Welcome to Kireka Super Mamas Association.

It is with gratitude and humility that I welcome you to our Association. My story is one of resilience, determination, and hope, and it is the foundation upon which Kireka Super Mamas Association was established. I am a proud single mother of eight children. My life has not always been easy. At the age of 16, while still very young, I became a teenage mother. Later, when my first-born child was still in primary school, I became a single mother. Raising eight children on my own was one of the greatest challenges of my life. Every day was a struggle to provide food, education, shelter, and hope for my children.

To support my children, I worked as a domestic worker  (house girl) in other people’s homes, sold charcoal, and traded cassava chips by the roadside. I took on every honest job I could find to ensure my children had the opportunity to survive and build a better future. Through these experiences, I witnessed firsthand the hardships, vulnerability, discrimination, and exploitation that many single mothers and other vulnerable women endure every day. I understood their pain because I lived it myself. These experiences ignited a deep passion within me not only to overcome my own circumstances but also to reach out and support other women facing similar struggles.

In 2010, God gave me the vision to establish Kireka Super Mamas Association as a platform where women could come together to support one another, acquire practical skills, save collectively, start businesses, and restore hope to those who had lost it. Although the vision was born in 2010, it required years of prayer, perseverance, and preparation before it became a reality. In 2018, that vision finally materialised with the establishment of Kireka Super Mamas Association. Since then, our Association has grown into a source of hope and empowerment for many women and families. Through vocational skills training, entrepreneurship, savings initiatives, mentorship, and mutual support, we continue to equip women with the knowledge, confidence, and opportunities they need to become self-reliant and improve their livelihoods. We firmly believe that when a woman is empowered, her family is strengthened, her children are given a brighter future, and the entire community benefits.

Today, as I welcome you to our Association, I invite you to become part of this journey of hope, resilience, and transformation. Together, we can uplift women, strengthen families, and build communities where every mother has the opportunity to live with dignity and every child has the chance to achieve a brighter future. As Founder and Chairperson, my commitment is to continue serving with integrity, compassion, and dedication while creating opportunities that enable women to become self-reliant and economically independent. Every success story of a member reminds me why this journey began and inspires me to keep moving forward.

I sincerely thank all our members, partners, supporters, and well-wishers for believing in our vision and standing with us on this remarkable journey. Your encouragement, trust, and commitment continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of countless women and families.

Thank you, and welcome to Kireka Super Mamas Association.
